IVF cycle with a deferred embryo transfer is different from IVF cycle with fresh embryo transfer. Deferred embryo transfer presupposes that IVF cycle is performed in two timelines. IVF cycle is started as routine IVF cycle (treatment protocol is designed, pre–treatment screening tests are performed, controlled ovarian stimulation is started and is closely monitored, oocytes are retrieved, collected, investigated and fertilized with sperm, embryo is cultured to day 3. After that, instead of endometrium preparation, mock embryo transfer, and actual embryo transfer is performed, the entire embryo–cohort is transferred to cryovials, vitrified (cryopreserved, by vitrification technique), and the actual ultrasound–guided embryo transfer is performed after the embryo thawing and embryo screening in a subsequent cycle that is designed separately from the COS (controlled ovarian stimulation).

IVF cycle with a deferred embryo transfer basic fee is £4,600. This fee is approximate and covers the following:

— Nurse’s consultation to complete consent forms & teach injections

— Monitoring ultrasound scans and blood tests during stimulation cycle

—HFEA fees

—Ultrasound guided egg collection & sedation for egg collection

—Sperm preparation and fertilization of eggs

—Embryo culture to day 3

—Embryo freezing by vitrification (does not include storage fees)

—Follow up consultation to plan transfer cycle

—Monitoring ultrasound scans and blood tests during transfer cycle

—Thawing of embryos, ultrasound guided embryo transfer

—Acupuncture (elective, 1 session), Fertility support (elective, 2 sessions)

—Progesterone test, pregnancy test & 7–week scan

—Review consultation in the event of a negative outcome

This fee does not cover consultations, medications, blastocyst culture, preimplantation genetic screening of embryos (PGS) by next generation sequencing (NGS), and other screening tests and IVF–related additional options.

These additional options are charged separately from IVF cycle with a deferred embryo transfer package. Medications* (estimate) —£1,370

Cycle cancellation fees:

Abandoned cycles: cycles abandoned prior to egg collection will be billed for monitoring scans and blood tests plus a £100 cycle cancellation fee; at egg collection, if there are no eggs or fertilization fails, or no embryo transfer (ET) takes place, we regret no refund can be issued. Deferred ET cycles abandoned after egg collection will be recharged as a fresh ET cycle and no further refund will be issued.
