More information about prolonged embryo culture to the blastocyst stage

Prolonged embryo culture to blastocyst stage has forever changed the time frame the embryo transfer can be performed at. It has also changed forever the embryo implantation event and its rates. It all changes again with implementing the strategy of transferring the POWERFUL embryo on Day 5 or Day 6, synchronized or not with dedicated “Apps” — laser–assisted hatching to save its implantation “power” and maternal endometrium preparation for Big Embryo Implantation Debut.

Prolonged embryo culture protocols designed from the draft to be the best “tool” to boost the embryo chances to implant without “milestones” after being transferred into the maternal uterus. Furthermore, the blastocyst is an EMPOWERED embryo (or PRO embryo), that starts launching its “embryonic space” immediately after implantation as it has already hatched outside, thus, its implantation rates are boosted to 100%.

STEP 1 | Embryos Are Cultured to Blastocyst Stage

Embryos are cultured and closely monitored to the blastocyst stage (Day 6). Time–Lapse incubator makes possible the cutting–edge management and monitoring of the embryo development. Time–Lapse software seamlessly synchronizes everything across real–time imaging of embryo culturing, real–time streaming video content of embryo development, video–recording of the embryo growing, visualizing the embryonic content that stopped growing, visualizing the embryos that should undergo assisted hatching, — or the laboratory technician can back up, restore, and synchronize all images and video content from the moment the embryos were transferred to the Time–Lapse incubator to the present moment. The all–new Time–Lapse apps are the ultimate imaging streaming experience and ideal video content recording.

*STEP 2 | Laser–Assisted Hatching (LAH)

If there are some issues with embryo hatching detected through Time–Lapse imaging apps, the laser–assisted hatching is performed. Every embryo should hatch outside for successful implantation. Hatching outside means the embryo should “tear its embryonic envelope” (as there is no space left for growing further) and hatch outside.

Hatching outside boosts the embryo implantation rates dramatically. If there are some issues with embryo hatching, the laser–assisted hatching is recommended for the embryos suitable for further embryo transfer “event.”

Laser–assisted hatching is a real “tool” that helps the embryo to hatch outside. This technique facilitates the hatching process and makes it possible for the early embryo to “get in touch” with maternal endometrium and to “launch its space” successfully (successful embryo implantation).

*STEP 3 | Embryo Transfer “Event”

The most expected event in the whole IVF cycle. From the first consultation, this day is “labeled” as “coming soon.” This day is the day of the “big debut” as the embryo is transferred into the maternal uterus. Embryo transfer is not–invasive, easy–to–perform, two–staged procedure that is completed less than in 5 minutes’ time frame. The embryo is “launched” into the flexible tube, called catheter and is transferred into the womb.

In two weeks after the embryo transfer, the blood pregnancy test is done (hCG — Human chorionic gonadotropin hormone indicates that the pregnancy is achieved). If the blood pregnancy test is positive, the early monitoring ultrasound will be scheduled to detect the embryo cardiac activity and to confirm the clinical pregnancy.
